The Rensselaerville Institute

Known as the think tank with muddy boots, The Rensselaerville Institute is an education center that applies outcome thinking and practice to such diverse challenges as bringing fresh water to a distressed community, turning around low-performing schools, or moving individuals from welfare to work.

The Institute's mission is to:

• Enable communities to harness their own resources to improve people's lives in sustainable ways.
• Show organizations how to set targets, measure their progress, and change their behavior to achieve quantum leaps in performance.
• Demonstrate for foundations, government agencies, and other donors how to act as investors who pursue human gain with the same rigor as investors who seek financial return.
